Greetings. My name is Mary Horman. I am a librarian in Canada that is working with a team of others on an initiative to raise awareness of people working across the information professions. We're working to show the range of career paths, work disciplines and education backgrounds of people working across these varied professional fields. Most of us are associated with the Association for Information Science & Technology (ASIS&T; http://www.asis.org/).

Broadly, what we mean by "information professions" includes the whole swath of people working in such varied disciplines as health informatics, archival sciences, academia, web analytics, library and information science, information technology, information architecture, records management and others who work primarily in information-rich roles and professions.

We have been working on a site, http://infoprofessionals.org/ that we are in the midst of updating, expanding, and migrating to WordPress. One of the aspects of this is to collect interviews with a wide spectrum of people working in this space, and demonstrate the variety of interesting work and careers that one can have in the information professions.

We would be interested in talking to some members of the International Council on Archives, most particularly members based in North America since most of the work would be done here in North America. If this sounds like a project you would be interested in having members your organization involved with, we would contact members to see who would be interested in having a profile added to. http://infoprofessionals.org/infopro-interviews.html

Thanks so much for considering! If you are interested in working with us, it would be ideal if you could let us know by the end of February or shortly thereafter.

   Best regards,

   Mary M. Horman
