The financial services industry is by no means immune to data breaches. In
2014 alone, British financial services firms were investigated 585 times
for data privacy breaches. Data Protection Act (DPA) breach investigations
within the industry have more than doubled in the past two years, as
revealed by a recent freedom of information request to the Information
Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
