Peters list looks intriguing and what a variety of subjects.  I will need to retire again before tackling some of those.

I'm reading light and enjoy :

Wayne Stinnett- Jesse McDermott series.  Ex-marine who moves to the Florida Keys to get away and finds himself wrapped up in bad things happening to good people.  Makes him wonder why he got out of Marines

James W Hall - Thorn Series
John McDonald- Travis McGee series (Reread the whole series)
Michael Connelly- Anything

All easy reads and the kind of books you can put down for a few days if busy and not have to start again
