Brian - thanks for sharing Don's open letter. Like Steve, I am in agreement. 

I find IG to lend more confusion than clarity. The title "records manager" should be able to evolve same as any other profession without changing the title of its practitioners. We get it. Perhaps our companies or agencies do not, but then it is our task to ensure that they do. 

Seriously I continue to be a member of ARMA to help support my local chapter. I suspect that this is my last year as a member. To quote BB King in the Roy Hawkins song, "the thrill is gone".
