This was a purchase order.  Previously, we extended Net 30 terms to them, without issue - they responded when we forwarded a past due invoice under those terms.  As I said, this is a large international corporation, and the invoice was only for a few thousand dollars, which would mean nothing to them but quite a bit to us.  If they feel that they can dictate their payment terms, I don't feel that we're out of line adjusting our purchase price in the future in order to compensate for the extended amount of time that we're having to carry them (after all, we need to pay OUR suppliers).

I truly appreciate everyone's comments and insight!

Just curious, Is the payment schedule stipulated in the contract?  If so can they arbitrarily change it?
