I learned of Bill's passing in the ICRM Newsletter just now, and of course
turned to recmgmt-l knowing that his importance to our profession would be
recognized. Perhaps demonstrated by his mentorship of so many of us, he was
a listener and sage observer.

Like Steve, Juanita and others, Bill was my first (along with Pat Acton)
deep dive into records management. I admit to some impatience with the
efficiency of commentary on course work, but as I grew to be a mentor and
educator myself, the rationale became clear. I was learning on many
levels--laterally--and that has proved a lasting influence in my career.

Thank you, Bill. I join colleagues in offering sincere condolences to his
family and loved ones.

John James O'Brien, CRM
