Good Morning All -

I'm currently in the process of working up a proposal for relocating the contents and records of a County Courthouse. In addition to the loose documents and files, there are several hundred antique ledgers (over 100 years old) that will be relocated to a climate-controlled environment for approximately 2 years while renovations are conducted. Currently, most of these ledgers are sitting stacked without any protection on the floor in one of the courthouse storage rooms. The local Historical Society wants the ledgers to be individually wrapped prior to relocation for storage to prevent further deterioration, and we are considering using oversized polybags or bubble wrap. Could someone please tell me if there is a standard (NARA or otherwise) for the material that we would need to use and the handling procedures? I would like to cite this in my proposal to let them know that we are in line with best practices.

Thanks in advance -
