JOB DESCRIPTION:
Do you have passion for government transparency? The Division of Archives
needs an Executive Secretary to provide administrative support for the State
Records Committee and participate as a member of the Open Records Team. If
you have a basic understanding of the Government Records Access and
Management Act (GRAMA) and the ability to deal with conflict situations
judiciously, this could be the role for you!
 
Principal Duties
As the Executive Secretary of the State Records Committee, you will:

    Provide administrative support for the Committee, including
        Scheduling meetings.
        Taking meeting minutes.
        Coordinating communication between petitioners, government, and the
Committee. 
    Review, manage, and coordinate appeals, decisions, orders, subpoenas,
and summons.
    Perform legal research.
    Develop and provide training on GRAMA and related topics.

The best qualified candidate for this position will have:

    Knowledge of GRAMA.
    Experience in
        Performing legal research.
        Drafting professional letters and correspondence of a legal nature.
        Taking and writing meeting minutes.
        Evaluating complex request details.
        Clerical and administrative support functions.

access denials under GRAMA and authorizes retention schedules for government

Working Conditions:

    Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted,
heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips
and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.

Physical Requirements:

    Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work;
however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items;
driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to
perform the work..

An employee shall be appointed to this position annually, as defined in Code
63G-2-502.
