Dear All:

Well, I'm sitting at my desk here in Detroit with several new applications from individuals who wish to become candidates to take the CRM exam and become certified records managers. The pile of applicants, while manageable, is not overwhelming and this leads to the question of why. In these times I'd think we would all be striving to find the next "hook" to help us get ahead professionally- and I think certification through the ICRM is a giant and maybe ultimate "hook" for our profession.

So, why is that pile not so overwhelming that I'd be forced to cry "stop, stop I've had enough.???" Could it be that you're all so very worried about my workload? Nah, I didn't think so. Is it because the certification process is a mystery to you? Possibly. Is it that you're worried about whether or not you qualify? Maybe. Is it because you're worried about whether or not you can pass the exams? Who knows. I do know this, though. Anyone can contact me directly with questions about applying for the exam and the certification process and I'll be happy to talk you through any questions you may have. After all, the ICRM wants to see qualified professionals taking and passing the CRM exams and becoming part of the pool of certified records managers.

Why not apply now?
