I agree, Steve (who said "It is not that way in every local government.  It
it were, I would still
be in the Energy industry or may have moved along to Pharmaceuticals, etc."

The imaging technician who works for makes $35K and I make quite a bit more
than that.  When our city does salary surveys, it compares salaries for
similar work in both the public and private sector.
