Provide processing and reference services for the Salt Lake County Archives; performs research services in the County Archives including assisting the public with reference requests for archival records and conducting limited research; utilizes databases, finding aids and reference materials to determine records needed by patrons; completes user documentation; implements and completes processing projects in coordination with the Cataloging Archivist; writes finding aids including series descriptions, indexes, appendices, agency histories, etc.; manages work priorities including indexing, refoldering, and reformatting; determines preservation requirements and conduct limited preservation as needed; works on outreach and public programming projects; identifies marketing and public relations opportunities in order to promote County Archives; prepares/conducts exhibits, workshops, brochures and other promotional products; provides concepts, design, and content development for website; may supervise and train employees, interns or volunteers to assist in archival research or processing projects; coordinate projects and work flow with the Cataloging Archivist; generates a variety of routine and special reports and statistics as needed; performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

		Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in History (Archives emphasis), Records Management, Library Science or other closely related field, plus one (1) year of experience in a field closely related to these duties; OR an equivalent combination of related education and experience.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THIS POSITION:  Must be able to stoop, bend, reach, crouch, climb ladders and lift up to 40 pounds to retrieve and store records.  Must be able to pass a Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office Criminal Records Check.
