Technologies for Records Managers

Successful communication of Electronic Records Management principles and
practices to executives, legal counsel, IT personnel, and records
creators. To survey and assess electronic records within
technology-driven organizations requires understanding of the computer
systems that originate records, the electronic records file formats,
various repositories for records storage and the networks used for
information transmission and distribution. For Records Managers to work
with IT requires understanding of computer technologies. This session
will provide an overview of the systems and technologies that support
electronic records creation, electronic mail, desktop computers, Web
servers, e-document repositories, and database applications.

inventory, retention research, and analysis of proper methods for

shelf vs. file cabinets and various types of file shelving and automated
file equipment with cost justification for each.  

How to initiate a disaster recovery program for hardcopy and electronic
media.  

How to conduct an audit of the records with proven methods to facilitate
the audit process.

the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County, Chicago,
IL. This session will out line project objectives for the Clerk's Office
record keeping program, and the challenges of engineering a records
automation program within a governmental office.

CRM CEUs will be determined by ICRM.  Previous years have been assigned
