And to add to this some of us have to judge compliance in RM programs.
The AIIM-The Enterprise Content Management Association has released its
results of its Industry Watch study on Compliance.

The weakest link is still electronic documentation. Users are still
more comfortable managing paper records. The study did not include RMs,
only end users. The study is available for members of AIIM at
www.aaim.org/viewpdfa.asp?ID=31842.

As for the education for RMs I had to design my own for the government
one. Now we have the Federal RM certification from NARA, the CRM and
others out there. It just gets more confusing.

Subject: Re: [RM] Somewhat OT Top 50 Jobs In America

A few years ago I was a project manager on a records management contract
at the US Dept. of Justice. We had 50 people on the project managing
litigation case files. Many were commonly called "clerks". In
Washington, of course, the first thing anybody asks you is: "What do you
do", or "Where do you work?" I told my people not to introduce
themselves as "clerks", but as "information management professionals".
Here in DC, that could be especially important in social situations with
"potential". Never got any feedback on that one. I'll leave it there.
