Hi Lee-

I guess I should have said that I have over six years of legal experience. I worked before entering the graduate program.

  Thanks for your advice.

Where you start your job search depends on what kind of job you'll be
looking for. Based on your background, is it safe to assume that you'll
be looking for a position in a private legal environment, such as a law
firm or corporate legal department? If so, I can send you some tips on
how to start. I should warn you, though, that a degree with no
hands-on, practical experience generally doesn't hold much weight in any
professional work situation. Even if you were going to use your degree
in law librarianship to obtain a position as a law librarian, if you
come out of school with no work experience, you would find it difficult,
if not impossible, to get a management-type position. You'd have to
start at near entry-level and work up from there, although, with your
background, you might be able to progress up the ladder fairly rapidly.

Subject: [RM] Interest in Records Management

I am graduate student in Information Science with an emphasis in Law
Librarianship and Legal Informatics. I also hold a BA in Paralegal
Studies. My interest is records management. Can someone please guide me
in the right direction and let me know where I should start my job
search? I will graduate in August 2007.
