Fueling the on-going raging debate on optical media longevity - here is a development which appears to be a step in resolving some issues:

It claims to burn CDs and DVDs with damage-resistant “master copies” of your files.
 
Upside: Low Cost, great if it does what it claims !!
 
Downside: works only on Mac's. The burned discs, it's claimed, can be read on any system without the software installed,  but you need the program to correct disc damage.
 
If anyone here who uses Macs, decides to try out and torture test these claims - please let's know the results !
