I'll preface this by saying this is a very cynical response, but the 
fact that it works only on Macs means that it is not a preservation 
tool.  Further, it may be a way of storing files more 
effectively/safely in the short term, but any optical medium is bound 
for obsolescence once the machine(s) that play them go away.  My 
cynical $0.02 worth -- Thanks -- Dan
