As Co-Chair of the MER conference, let me answer to the key questions
regarding the availability of MER hotel rooms.

1.	Q: Is the Westin Hotel sold out?

A: The Westin is sold out. There has been a veritable "firestorm" of
activity following the announcement of the MER 2007 program - record
registrations have been received and unprecedented room sales at the
conference hotel, the Westin on Michigan Avenue.

2.	Q: Are there available hotel rooms in Chicago near the Westin
for the MER?

A: Yes, there are lots rooms are still available at three other very
convenient, quality hotels - Radisson Hotel & Suites
<http://www.merconference.com/hotel2.html> , Chicago City Centre Hotel &
Sports Club <http://www.merconference.com/hotel3.html> (formerly the
Holiday in at Mc Clurg Court), and Days Inn - Lincoln Park North
<http://www.merconference.com/hotel4.html> . The cost of these hotel
rooms ranges from substantially less than the Westin to somewhat higher.
Note: At these hotels, rooms are available for all three MER conference
nights: Sunday, May 20th; Monday, May 21st: and Tuesday, May 22nd.
Complete hotel cost and information on all of the MER hotels can be
found on the MER website at: http://www.merconference.com/hotel.html
<http://www.merconference.com/hotel.html>

3.	Q: Are there available hotel rooms in Chicago near the Westin
for Saturday night, May 19th - so I can attend one of the pre-conference
tutorials on Sunday or simply enjoy a fun-filled personal day in
Chicago?

A: At the Chicago City Centre Hotel & Sports Club
<http://www.merconference.com/hotel3.html> , a substantial block of
available rooms is still available for May 19th. Because hotel rooms
are very tight for the evening on May 19th, a large block of additional
rooms have been reserved at the Marriott O'Hare Hotel for the 19th.
Chartered motor coaches will be bring everyone staying at this hotel to
the MER Conference Hotel, the Westin Hotel on Michigan Avenue, on Sunday
morning in ample time to attend an MER pre-conference tutorial or
enjoying a personal day in Chicago. MER Conference registrants then can
stay at their choice of the three above referenced conveniently located
downtown to attend the conference. Complete hotel cost and information
on all of the MER hotels can be found on the MER website at:
http://www.merconference.com/hotel.html

4.	Q: Is there a major convention in Chicago at the same time as
the MER?

A: The National Restaurant Association will be holding its annual
conference at the same time as the MER. This has occurred for the last
several years and, as past MER registrants can attest, the NRA has had
little or no impact on the MER and its registrants. It is recommended,
however, that you make your airline and hotel plans early to avoid
possible disappointment.

Conferences and conventions are a big part of Chicago's economy and as a
resident of downtown Chicago for more than three decades I can say from
experience that this city "absorbs very well" the large number people
who come to attend professional gatherings. Chicago has the
transportation resources, hotels, restaurants, meeting facilities as
well as entertainment and cultural venues to make it a very a unique and
very positive experience - whether your visit is on business or as a
tourist. This, and its convenient central location, is why I have
chosen, for this the 15th year, to have the MER Conference in Chicago.

If you need any assistance with hotels, registration, advice about fun
restaurants, the MER conference team would be please to be help you.
