"It's evidenced by many questions
that are routinely posed on the Listserv by people whose sig line includes
the designation "CRM" that are asking things that a CRM should know
without
having to open a book in many cases.

I can't (and won't) cite specific examples presently , but I'm sure if
you're a long time List watcher, you've seen them too... or if you keep
your eyes peeled, you'll see them again.

Every time I see one, I make a 3x5 card out with their name on it and put
it
in my Rolodex until I can punch out a Hollerith to include it in the stack
for my database (that's an old RIM reference, but I'm sure John and Doug
caught it!) =)

I'm sure my index card has dog-eared edges in your rolodex and I probably
need to either go back to lurking only or create another username to ask
my basic questions. One of the responses to my last question referred to
stuff learned in a RIM 101 class.

I take exception that I'm an idiot that doesn't deserve the CRM desigation
because I ask basic questions. It could very well be that I do have the
knowledge but because of a large number of reasons am having trouble
getting that knowledge communicated or accepted, within the organization I
work for. Having the ability to ask the questions in a forum where the
experiences and company base is large opens up the potential to look/
communicate the knowledge in a manner I hadn't considered.

Respectfully submitted
