I too am new to the listserv.

However, we have multiple cost codes that have shredding bins located in
their areas. However, we (Corporate Records) budget for the shredding and
charge it back to us. Our shredding contract is also separate from our
waste removal contract. This seems to work best for all involved, one
invoice, one budget and one area of responsibility.

Hello all,

I'm new to the listserv, be kind and I don't do donuts. Our company also
has a contract with a vendor for shredding. Locked bins all over the
place. The issue I'm having is billing and contract management. We make
the vendor bill by cost centers. We have about 200 cost centers. Some
cost centers only generate small amounts. I'm surprised the vendor
hasn't come back about that issue. Also, the person who initiated this
contract was in the records department, left and that position was
eliminated. The shredding contract is in our Accts Payable System but
when it comes for renewal, they will need to reassign to a responsible
party. Anyway I want to go to the powers that be with a better billing
method (something like one bill quarterly with cost centers listed, lbs
shredded) and who should manage this contract.

So the questions are: how do others work with billing and who managers
the shredding contract. Yes our shredding contract is separate from our
other waste contracts.

Thanks
Wilma Lucente

Our vendor supplies locked consoles with slots in front and nylon catch
bags with locking rope pulls inside. Lateset count is 134 consoles at
116 locations - ant that's just in our Engineering division. They pick
up full bags and replace with empties once per week. Designated persons
have keys to the consoles if they're needed. Bags are collected and the
materials are random cross-cut shredded on site. Random cross cut
shreds in voluntary patterns leaving each piece about the size of your
finger nail. They then take the shred to a mill where it is recycled
into raw materials for new paper and cardboard products. Pretty darned
green process. Happy to talk further.
