Ben,

The only two I see are related specifically to privacy policies related to
health/medical information and data rather than policies in general.

45 CFR 164.316
45 CFR 164.530(J)(1)

This is regulation for the Department of Health and Human Services. Chapter
45 is Welfare, Subchapter C is Administrative Data Standards and Related
Requirements and 164 is Security and Privacy.

Subject: Retention for Policies

Although I do not believe there are any regulations or legal retention
requirements, does anyone have any thoughts on the retention period for
past/superseded policies? I am struggling with two ideas....one where you
keep versions of old policies indefinitely (in case of litigation where
counsel wants to see policy at the time in question); and finally the idea
of
keeping only the current version of the policy. Any thoughts are welcome.
Thank you.
