The San Antonio chapter has also had a city-wide shred day for a few
years. The chapter in cooperation with the shred companies have a shred
day the first Saturday after tax day, this year Apr 19th. One of our
financial institutions has allowed us to use their parking lots for the
trucks. The local radio station does a PSA starting a week prior, as
well as the San Antonio Credit Union announcing on their marquees and
providing flyers to their banking customers. Other chapter members are
also advertising at their place of employment.

It used to be half a day at four locations. Because of the success we
are having this year we will go from 9:00 - 5:00 at nine locations, with
a tenth truck as backup. I think this is our 5th or 6th year, getting
bigger every year. We do accept donations with all proceeds going to a
charitable organization.

Hi all,
One of our City Councilmembers has asked about the possibility of a
"shredding day offered to the public" and hosted by the City. I'm
wondering if any of you have either administered or participated in such
an event and might have some wise counsel for me? I did a search and
came up with a few links that I'll check into (shown below). Thanks for
your help!
