Does this mean that non-records appear as a records series on your
approved retention schedules? What about drafts? Should they also
appear on a records retention schedule?

Thanks.

a book on legal holds....

Melissa,

"that a Legal hold Policy has to cover all information created by the
company vs. a records management policy which covers records and their
management." Let me just suggest to you that your records management
policy, especially your retention plan, needs to cover all information
created by the company as well, including non records, so the legal hold
documentation could give you some leverage to accomplish that goal. This
action by the lawyers is not a bad thing. It will give your records
policies more visibility. Embrace this change in corporate thinking!
