Here in Oz, recordkeeping is something everyone in an organisation does,
whereas records management is done by a select few. Our companies law, and
sound business practice, says that all officebearers, staff
and contractors must keep records of business activity. We in records
management provide the policies, procedures, tools and advice to support
this small but necessary component of business activity.

Many a user training program designed by records managers has been a total
waste of time because of a failure to recognise this simple distinction,
which proves that many people in records management are records clerks not
managers.
Cheers

These views are mine alone. They may or may not be those of any
previous or present employers or clients. I don't know. If I'd asked
and they'd agreed, I would have signed it "Harry Peck and Co and
Glenn". Or whatever. But I haven't, so I didn't.
