Alan,

Thanks for this excellent "self defense" reference! I am often asked by
business associates and family - "I sent you an email an hour ago! You
haven't answered it. Are you OK?"

I usually reply that I already have a variety of prioritized tasks for the
day, and CORRESPONDENCE is only one of those tasks. So I only check email
3-4 times per day - early, around noon, and late in the day. This also
forces me to prioritize which emails are worth reading and responding to.

So, again - thanks. Now I won't have to feel like telling them - "Sorry, but
you are not on my list of Favorites" or something equally unsettling.
