I am curious if anyone on the list knows why the Robek, Brown and Stephens textbook was dropped after the 4rth edition. Was this a decision of the authors or the publishers or perhaps both. There are some other excellent monographs (I especially like and use Shepherd and Yeo's, Managing Records and Choksy's Domesticating information).

I think it is a bit sad that we are using a text more than a decade out of date not as a historical document but as a primary teaching tool.

Still the fact that a text that was published more than a decade ago is still in use perhaps tells us that there are few alternatives that provide the breadth of the Robek text.
