One of the examples that is commonly repeated in business literature is that of SAS Airlines which as its vision was to be the best airline in the world for business travelers. I think that whatever vision you adopt has meaning to your staff, stakeholders, customers.

I see. How about this?

Adhere to PeER and pinpoint your records in a pinch.

I really like this PeER acronym for pRecords+eRecords.

My notion of business statement is something that will be of value to all employees in directing all of their future decisions and actions.
For example a school may have a vision statement -- its all about the classroom. In this case each business decision will be viewed through the lens of how this supports adding value in the classroom. A vision statement could be the customer is always right -- this one may be a bit hard to live with especially when you are convinced that someone may be taking advantage of you. But that's my view on this.
