I've read a few comments in the Society for Human Resources Management
(SHRM) newsletters, but I don't believe anything official has been
produced.  I'd check with the people in your HR department and, if
they're SHRM members, they can see if SHRM has done any research into
this issue.  It certainly is cause for rethinking payroll record
retention.

Subject: Question about Ledbetter Fair Pay Act and Retention

Has anyone altered or thought of altering their retention periods for
payroll records in response to the change in the law that allows an
employee to file a claim all the way back to when the alleged
discrimination started?  I have been asked to "look into this".
