An excellent source for litigation hold info is the ARMA guideline "Records Management Responsibility in Litigation Support."  It can be purchased from ARMA International as a pdf download at http://tinyurl.com/ps2lnw.  If you are an ARMA members you get a discount on the publication prices.

ARMA also has an excellent publication "7 Steps for Legal Holds of ESI and Other Documents" by John J. Isaza, Esq. & John Jablonski, Esq. available for purchase at http://tinyurl.com/mo722k.
