My sympathies to you on the loss of your co-worker.
Although it would seem that our work as records managers would be unemotional and cut & dry, it is not always the case. We often find ourselves at the heart of stressful or sad situations. Layoffs, plant closures, or even the death of a co-worker will find us involved at some level. Often we are the ones that sift through the records that are left. I guess it is not unlike the tasks a family would undertake on a personal level.
I think you've covered your bases. The only thing I can think of that you may want to do it provide a list of what the family is receiving from your agency. Pass it on to HR along with the files & other objects. They might want the family to sign acknowledging what they received.
