Well, I won't split hairs here but I think it might be more accurate to say
it would be "...representative of a portion of people working in or aligned
with the RIM Profession who elect to pay $175/yr to belong to a certain
association..." if it only went to a select number of their members, and
only a portion of them responded.
The earlier surveys took input from a broader cross section of those in the
profession, and it asked IF the respondent was a member of any of the
typical aligned associations (ARMA, AIIM, NAGARA, NIRMA, SAA, ALA, etc.) so
that seemed a bit more inclusive to me.
Hopefully the report will indicate the demographics of the respondent
population and carry some form of disclaimer that identifies who
participation was limited to.
