...may be Business Rules Management http://bit.ly/3aj9s

And, well it REALLY isn't new... this is however the 12th Annual Conference,
but too bad, but the conference is already in process http://bit.ly/2GWtbz

Much of this is on a different plane than many of us are directly involved
with, but all of us will ultimately be impacted by.

This REALLY IS where the rubber meets the road; where analytics regarding
how decisions are made and information is used are developed and the end
product churns out new methods and practices for software/applications to
manipulate data into output or "information" that will ultimately need to be
managed in RM contexts.

Consider this- these are the topics being addressed at this Conference:

The value proposition for business rules
Moving beyond bottom-up Data Quality and Process Improvement strategies
Operational Decision Management as competitive advantage
Single-sourcing changes to decision logic across business, organizational
and platform boundaries
Implementing agile applications with the flexibility to change as fast as
your business rules change
Using business rules to address regulation—and deregulation—successfully
Ensuring auditability

Now think of issues your organization is addressing and how ALL OF THESE
topics are directly related to records and information management. Are we
missing the boat by not being involved on the front end of this rather than
sweeping up after the parade? Do we as (RIMs) need to be more aware of
these efforts and what changes are being proposed to drive business rules
and management decision making that will eventually impact the manner in
which information is generated and needs to be managed?

Where is our Strategic Alliance with this effort? Personally, I've booked a
cabin on the lower levels of this cruise ship and over time, hope to move
into better accommodations and to have an opportunity to be involved in more
direct contact with those invited to the Captain's Table. Anyone care to join?

Larry
