Tom and Julie both make good points. I do not have a problem paying a fair price for a service. Of course, a fair price is a matter of perception. As Tom mentioned, you get what you bargained to receive. My firm pays higher delivery fees than I would like, but I got the deal I wanted on storage rate.
We have been successful in disputing the minimum/order charges, but that is because we are still operating under the legacy contract Iron Mountain purchased from Archives One which did not include the order restriction. They still get on the bill but Iron Mounitain ends up doing a correction memo to remove the charge.
My contract is up in 11/2011. Can't wait to see what their proposal will be going forward.
