Well said!  

In our own small way at SJSU, we put archives & records management together
in the Master of Archives & Records Administration program - hoping the next
generation of graduates will be prepared for both. Interesting, though, how
students still favor one or the other. It is difficult for some with a
records management background to understand why they should study archives
and vice versa. And, to confuse matters even more, we have an option in the
Master of Library & Information Science program where students can select
the archival specialization. Many job listings for archivists in positions
affiliated with libraries require the MLIS because it is accredited by the
ALA (American Library Association).
