Direct the Records Retention Administration aspect of the Records and
Information Management Program. Develop, implement and sustain the processes
required to ensure business segments/corporate are in compliance with the
enterprise-wide Assurant Records Retention Schedule.

Key responsibilities

Responsibilities:
Manage, optimize and coordinate the enterprise-wide Records Retention
Schedule administration process; ensure the Retention Schedule, including
the International Schedules, reflects the most current business practices
and retention requirements; analyze legal, regulatory and business
requirements; negotiate with the business, Legal, RAS, other stakeholders
and ensure acceptance regarding records classification and retention
periods.
Lead the Records Retention Schedule Change Process across all of Assurant;
facilitate the Records Retention Liaison and Senior Management Oversight
committees; publish and communicate changes to the Retention Schedule;
manage the integration and transfer of records and information for internal
reorganizations, mergers, acquisitions or divestitures
Develop and enforce procedures and processes necessary to implement and
operationalize the Assurant Records Retention Schedule across the
enterprise; coordinate the implementation and on going management of the
Records Retention Schedule across all the company's off-site records
centers; work with RAS to develop, implement and maintain the audit and
monitoring component of the RIM Program
Collaborate with IT teams/representatives from all business
segments/corporate to develop, implement and manage the on-going process to
ensure RIM requirements are met or planned for in new and legacy systems in
accordance with the Electronic Records Management Strategy; in partnership
with the business, develop the enterprise-level taxonomy/classification
scheme.
Develop, implement and own the methodology for tracking and managing costs,
ROI and risks associated with Electronic Records Management; define/maintain
RIM key performance indicators and provide framework and tools for the
business segments to assess their risks.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelors Degree preferably in Information Science, Business Administration,
Management Information Systems.
10 years experience in the records and information management field,
including extensive experience in records management industry standards and
electronic records management technology and best practices
High level of understanding of Technology (Mainframe, Inter/Intranet,
Network, Applications, Security, Storage Management/Backup Schemas) to be
successful in influencing, interpreting and collaborating with IT Teams
across the enterprise
Knowledge of statistical analysis and data collection, key performance
indicators and risk assessment methodologies
Knowledge of thesauri, taxonomies and classification schemes and the ability
to advocate and articulate benefits of implementing such tools across the
enterprise
Proven experience in managing a large and diverse organization's records
retention administration process
Experience implementing an Electronic Records Management Strategy in a
complex environment
Experience working in a virtual team

Desired skills/experience

Certified Records Manager designation strongly preferred
