Like many who have posted on the listserve I was saddened upon hearing of
Alan's passing; my heart sank. I had the distinct honor and privilege of
serving with Al on the ICRM board when I was the Treasurer a few years
back. I considered him a friend, colleague and mentor. Al always had a
smile, possessed a great sense of humor and was one of the most
knowledgeable records managers I have ever come across in my 20+ years in
the profession.

He was extremely dedicated to the records management community and one of
our best ambassadors within and outside the United States. As a consultant
he travelled around the world and promoted records management every where he
went. Al shared his knowledge and expertise with all and touched
many during his life. As Peter eloquently stated he was a Giant in our
profession and will be sorely missed.
