It has been a while on this, but to continue:
Definition is "any good or service received by a customer for any form
of tender". There are a lot of little intricacies as well, but I don't
want to get into them here, but would rather take a broad approach.
If there is anyone in the Retail industry that has led a similar project
around developing an archive and purge strategy for this type of
customer transaction history, please contact me. I would be very
interested to speak with you.

That's the central question and it is a huge difference because it
determines whether or not FACTA and other personal info protection laws
apply.
