Aside from on-going storage costs for obsolete records, can anyone speak to
the legal risks associated with keeping records past their assigned retention
dates? I'm specifically looking for any case law that involved sanctions due to
adverse inference gleaned from discovery of records that should have been
destroyed. The only case I know of is the Johns Manville class action in
the '80s. I'm collecting this type of info for a presentation.

Thanks in advance for your input!
