Good morning Ray; the vendor is NAID certified. On that note, I was
contacted by the Executive Director of NAID this morning regarding the
posting. He informed me that Certificates for vendor plant-based
destruction should only be issued after the materials have physically
been destroyed.

Thanks
Blake

Just out of sheer curiosity, is this vendor a member of the NAID or a
"certified" member ?

Subject: Certificates of Destruction

Good afternoon; I hope our Listserv members on the east coast have dug
out. I am currently involved in an RFP for shred services. One of the
vendors in contention performs shredding both on and off-site. They
informed me yesterday that they issue certificates of destruction at the
time the secure destruction bin transfers from my company's possession
into the hands of their employee regardless if the items are shredded on
or off-site.

I took exception to this process; their response was that during the
process of becoming NAID certified, NAID informed them that it was an
acceptable practice. I have checked NAID online and it states that the
vendor should provide the client with documentation of the date that the
materials were destroyed.

Have any of the Listserv members encountered this practice? I would
appreciate your feedback.

Sincerely
