Hi,
Am I the only one who remembers Max Headroom?  There was one episode on the
perpetual interface with the dead where the purveyors of the technology
were touting full contact with the intelligence of the dead individual but
providing just a video or 3-D with pre-determined responses like:
Live Spouse:  "I love you, Harry."
Response:  "I love you, too, Edith."
