For our upcoming monthly ARMA program we are having a
parliamentary-style debate on email management. The format will be
similar to that used on Intelligence Squared. If you've never heard
their debates on the radio, you can read about them at

I will be the moderator. The motion on the floor, and our program

I was wondering if anyone cared to either (1) make points "for" or
"against" the motion, or (2) give me any tips on being moderator. 

 

As with the program we are modeling on, the motion on the floor is
phrased a little controversially in order to generate discussion, but
not to start a fist fight. Please make your points as if you were
sitting on a panel in front of an audience. Reasoned, organized points
based on academic study, professional standards, and real-world
experience are the order of the day. (And "list spats" are discouraged,
for heavens sake!)
