FWIW when the vendor rejects my Gmail account (which I consider permanent
rather than throwaway) I reject the vendor's resources. And in case you
didn't know this, Gmail will let you use any combination of periods in a
Gmail account and it will still go to the main one, e.g.
[log in to unmask], [log in to unmask], etc. This can be a nice way
to determine when someone is abusing your email such as by sharing with
others. 

Also FWIW, many vendors have started to realize it's better to let people
link directly to resources so we can Tweet them, blog about them, etc. Not
all of them by a long shot - but the ones that do have seen uptake on their
resources soar. By way of one example, here's an article that references a
