Todd,
It depends. Does management really buy in to this? A single location
or multiple sites? How many record types? Do you have corporate
counsel? Dedicated staff or work put on top of someone doing a job
already? Has a survey been completed? How much in storage? All hard
copy? How much electronic? Where will you store (in-house or vendor)?
How much resistance to the concept of records management? Policy for
ALL records regardless of source,e.g., mobile devices, voice mail,
etc)? Do you have government contracts? And so on.... Many factors to
consider but probably most important is active, assertive, continuous
support from top management. Not an answer to your question but
questions to get to your answer. Dick King, University of Arizona
