Good morning!

We have custodial staff that handles collection of waste bins. We have
a formal shred program in place that requires all office paper to be
placed in shred consoles that are strategically placed throughout the
buildings. Small blue recycle bins are at most employee desks, but the
custodial staff has been instructed not to touch the blue bins.
Employees are required to empty the blue bins each day into the larger
shred consoles, especially if they work with sensitive information.
Paper is not allowed to be placed in waste bins. Program requirements
are incorporated into the annual Confidential Info/Data Privacy Training
and we perform periodic audits. We have also done "marketing" campaigns
to keep the requirements visible to employees.

Subject: [RM] Wastepaper

Generally, everyone has a wastepaper can at their desk.

1. Do staff at your organization empty their own wastepaper cans? Or
does your cleaning service do it nightly?

2. Does your organization have directions about what types of paper go
into your wastepaper can vs. what should be taken to a shredder instead?

Thanks,

Gary
