I have mostly heard of the Dublin Core initiative in relation to libraries and the OCLC bibliographic utility. For more specific information, you may wish to look at http://dublincore.org/

Subject: Dublin Core and classification
Hi:
Does anyone out there know anything about "Dublin Core". I would love to
know if this can be used for both electronic and paper records. Is
"Dublin Core" compatible to use with any classification system?
Would love your ideas.
Thanks
