CSC, a global leader in business and IT solutions headquartered in Falls
Church, Virginia, is looking for a RIM Intern:
Summary Description: Assists in the development of CSC’s Records and
Information Management program through research and analysis of the
company’s records and information inventory and business
processes/systems.
Assists in planning and designing businesses processes to support Records and
Information Management requirements; provides recommendations for
improvement.
Assists in the inventory, evaluation, and recommendation of proper records
and information systems.
Interviews department staff regarding end-user requirements.
Assists in the development of CSC’s inactive and archival records programs.
Essential Job Functions:
Assists in project to clean up metadata associated with CSC records stored at
Iron Mountain and to associate the inventory with CSC’s records retention
schedule.
Assists in planning and designing improvements to CSC’s business processes
and systems.
Assists in developing systems requirements documentation for electronic
repository of official CSC records.
Participates in meetings with end users to gather process and system
requirements and to inventory inactive and archival records.
Assists in analysis of department records, and in classifying and researching
appropriate retention values for each class.
Qualifications:
Looking for a student who wishes to pursue a career in records management
and/or archives
Prefer student enrolled in archives or records and information management
Master’s degree program who has completed at least one year of study
Working knowledge of retention guidelines and relevant records and
information management technology applications for records retention
Interpersonal and collaborative skills to interact with end users and records
and information management team members
Demonstrated written communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Competency in personal computer and business solutions software
Ability to work in a team environment with multiple team members and ability
to multitask
Principal Contacts: Interfaces with all levels of management. Works closely
with supervisors, co-workers, and other staff members for the purpose of
exchanging information. Works with users in problem or procedure change
situations.
