And no, this isn't a politically motivated posting!

It's hard to believe that SF is the only city that has this problem- I can
see where this coming to light is potentially going to impact nearly EVERY
US City. 

It's going to have to require records and background check information be
made available to DAs in all jurisdictions when officers are hired or
transfer in from other agencies prior to them being called as witnesses in
cases, or maybe even prior to suspects being charged!!
