After sharing this during yesterday's ARMA Cincinnati meeting, several
members thanked me afterwards as they were not aware of the risks.
Therefore, I wanted to share more broadly the following information
about the potential risk posed by copiers in your organization.
Your company's multi-function device (e.g. the copier machine) may be
leaking information to competitors, the public, or worse. How is this
possible? In sum, there is a hard drive on most of these machines
which stores electronic copies of the pages copied. If the machine is
replaced, sold, etc., these documents and the sensitive information
they contain are passed along.

This has implications from many perspectives including compliance,
information security, records management, competitive intelligence,
etc. Please share as broadly as possible to broaden the awareness and
initiate change (as appropriate). Feel free to post your comment(s) at
http://blog.clearsightcompliance.com as well :-)
