Actually, those of us in Canada, celebrate July 1st as Canada Day.  It is 
somewhat similar to your Independence Day, and falls remarkably close to 
July 4th.  So we have our own special day. 

For me, I never resent the holidays that any nation has.  It reminds us of 
our memory as a nation, how far we have come, and the freedoms we enjoy as 
a result of those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.  And we are pleased to 
have such great friends to the south.
