Caroline,

    Our average weight is probably 30-35 lbs. If I had my way, I would outlaw 
the big 24" boxes. 

    Last semester a graduate student in Engineering Technology did a project 
in the records center and sent me a copy of his paper. His recommendations?
To avoid lower back injury, boxes should weigh no more than 20 lbs and we 
should move no more than 2 boxes at a time on a cart. While probably true, it 
probably will never happen.
