Hi Janet,
I attended an Amigos workshop a few years ago on "Emergency Preparedness
Response & Recovery" but with another instructor. The workshop targeted
public libraries and state/local museums and included a lot of practical advice
and case studies. There were also tons of handouts (now they're probably
available on the web) and resource listings. It was held at a local historical
museum which kind of served as an interesting case study. There was no
charge for the the two day workshop, which included lunch both days and
course materials (including a cool "Emergency Response & Salvage Wheel" from
NEH). Even though it was pretty basic, I found it to be well worth the time
spent. I'm not familiar with your instructor but ours was well trained,
knowledgeable, and encouraged (and received) a lot of interaction with and
discussion from the class participants.
Hope this helps - feel free to contact me if you have anything specific you'd
like to discuss.
